Second if playing matched play/tournaments, the rules for building an army require that you first pick a faction for your army as a whole. You can either pick a focused faction (ie: Nighthaunt) or your army's grand alliance (ie: Death). Whichever faction you pick, your army may only include units of that faction (except for allies, see below).
Theeasiest starting point for any Age of Sigmar army is the Vanguard box set. The Nighthaunt box set contains: Chainrasps x 20; Grimghast reapers x 10; Spirit Hosts x 3; Knight of Shrouds; Chainrasps are a cheap, fast-moving unit. They have a weak 5+ save, and each model has two mediocre attacks.
Ageof Sigmar, Army Lists, Beasts of chaos, Bloodtoofs, Boulderhead, Chaos, LVO 2023 was the largest Age of Sigmar tournament in the world, by far, and 50% larger than previous LVOs.
