I'm just asking because if the name is already taken then I don't need to bother, but if it hasn't been used yet I would really like to have it. If someone could give me the name of a character that was reserved from GW1 and is already in use in GW2 I could test to see if I will get "This name is reserved" or "This name is already in use."
Open your Friend list, and type the name you want in the Search box. If you add someone, that name was already taken (by that someone). If it tells you the name doesnt exist, then make a character with that name. No one really cares what you name your characters, as long as it isn't offensive or extremely stupid.
Yep, was wondering when my "Afghsahtda" name for beta character that my own forehead came up with was gonna disappear from gw2efficiency list, kinda stands out from proper rp-ish names from the rest of my characters. Now I leveled a new Mesmer from 50 to 80 (got a scroll from birthday). And I fell in love with it :->>Leveling was quite fun. Sometimes a bit complicated, but all round I felt pretty capable in OW and story content. I had used the OW-build from metabattle(GS, Sw/Sw with some variations). Gearwise I used what I got from quests (some TP).
If you want to switch names around, but keep the respective characters, you have to buy 3 name change contracts. Then you have to use one to get a throwaway name for one characters to free up the name you want to use. Then you go to the character who should get the name and change it. That frees up the other name, which you now can get on the
