This cycle (my 2017 690 Enduro) is an exception to the dirt bike rule: It has what appears to be an oversized stator (still oil cooled). I added 90 watts of aux lighting today to my cycle. The voltmeter, at idle!, dipped from 14.3 VDC to 14.2 VDC while running those lights (ADVMonster 44 Watt x 2) full intensity.
This engine is shared with the KTM 690 Enduro, 690 SMC & 690 Super Moto. TFT screen [looks a tiny bit dated compared to latest but better than LCD], WP suspension [I will change the rear shock
Luckily this wasn’t a worry I needed to entertain for too long as the plan changed and the lovely folk at KTM had put aside a 690 Enduro R for me. I was as happy as a dog with two tails. The 690 R was introduced to the KTM range back in 2008, the punchy LC4 slotted into a bespoke off-road frame to produce a purposeful and highly enjoyable
BTW if you interested, if I can't make this HID kit work on my 690, it's actually designed for the KTM EXC bikes like yours and I may sell it. It includes the stator upgrade instructions and a regulator. Nice kit. I paid about $200 for it. #3.
I use this bike for commuting on the highway and therefore wanted a bit more comfort and less wind bufferting. The windshield was easy to install and works we

On a long trip with lots of highway speeds, functional beats good looking. The 790 S screen worked very well on my R, but would slap me in the face off-road. 1.) Technically, with using the original Rade install, the Rade cap should be able to get away with venting only one way, inward to relieve a vacuum from forming in the tank as fuel transfers to the rear. But, pressure build up due to heat can happen faster than a vacuum can occur from fuel use.
Description. Made in the USA ! CJD-FFNK-690 Kit shown in all three colors = KTM LC4 690 Enduro/SMC 08′-17′ ( Product show in picture is current ). The separate diamond shaped billet aluminum cover plate is now ALL ONE PIECE for aesthetics giving that OEM appearance on the 690. The stock KTM LC4 690/KTM 990 SMT fuel fill suffers from a few
There is no comparison, the 690 is far better both on and off road. You do need a better seat on the 690 if you're going very far on the highway. That and a small windscreen and the 690 is a good highway bike at any speed and for long miles. Having said that I do prefer a BMW, larger KTM over either 690 or KLR for a road trip. s760IQi.
