Cycle the off/on switch on the over the dash light and the light goes out. Open the door, both lights come one. Close the door and both lights go out as they should. Now that it is warm, there is a good chance that stopping the truck completely, get out for 5 minutes, come back and the system works as it should.
SOURCE: Interior Lights Stay On You have a door adjar light sticking in one of the doors or deck lid. Take you a can of WD40 open each door and spray it into the latch on the on the side of the doors then open and close it a few times,this will take car of the problem most of the time.
Dome light stays on. Last night when I started my 2007 Escape, the interior dome and rear cargo light didn't turn off after I shut the door. I double and triple checked the switch on the dome light to make sure it was on the 'Door' marker. For some reason the interior lights won't turn off unless I manually put the switch to the 'Off' position.
Posted May 3, 2011. Most likely cause is the GEM if the 'door open' warning is not displayed on the dash. GEM uses open collector (Transistor) output to control the lamp and I guess its blown, have you installed additional interior lamps, excessive loading is just about the only thing that would cause it to blow.

September 10, 2008. #1. My interior lights stay on for more than a minutes, like 15-20 minutes, after I close the door and lock it. This is a pain, drains the battery if you go in and out of the car. I have resorted to pulling the time delay relay in the fuse box, also turning the light dimmer all the way down to off, both are a pain to do.
The dash lights coming on and vehicle shutting down are, most likely, related to a charging system problem. It’s fairly common for all the dash lights to come on with no alternator output, low voltage can cause unusual electrical issues. The alternator should have been tested at the time of battery replacement.

There you go! 1) Go for the setting icon on the car screen. 2) Click on the feature bar at the end. 3) Select the ambient light option. 4) Go through the options and find the enable option. Interior Lights stay on. I have a 2004 f150. I have replaced the light switch and door switch's. the only way they go off is if I turn the dimmer switch all the way down Basicly turning off the lighting to the dash and overheads or by hitting the dash with my fist just above the light switch! this also turns off the brake light that come on all 1WVrVA.
